May 30, 2011- A very special day

The Lane's of Virginia

This week as you have seen on the blog already we had our first view. We were so excited to see the beginnings. However, Julie has also been frustrated because she just cannot hold down meat, so she is resorting to peanut butter, nuts, dairy, bread-cheese combo. Luckily, those have been working. She discovered a passion for macaroni salad with a twist of mom's potato salad touch to it. It was sooo good.

Tuesday we went to quartet practice and ate pho (beef broth, rice noodles, bean sprouts, green onions and meat).

Jeff and Julie both made some major progress in their respective studies. Both preparing for either applications or midterms.

Thursday, we went with some friends to our version of El Mexical. So good. Best taco and chimichangas! They also make terrific rice and beans which helped with the protein thing. Jeff REALLY enjoyed his tamale!! He says it hit the spot!

Friday, Jeff went to a going away party for his former boss. He brought home pizza for Julie which she loved, but he says was better the first time!

Saturday, Julie cut Jeff's hair. The rest of the day was a combo of study, nap, eat, and visit the lou. Haha oh the excitement. We did get to see the new Gulliver's travels which we thought was funny, but we like the older one with the full travels was a more soulful.

Today we had an unusual Sunday school. The ward sent all the adults to a class where we learned how to use the new lds.org site and all its tools. After church we had the cleaver hometeachers.

The Jackson's of Albuquerque

Kevin continues to enjoy his time off from school. Outside of work he is enjoying the time golfing with his friends Nick and Jeramie. Stacie has been busy training her new employees and preparing for the conference season. On Wednesday Kevin picked her up from work and they enjoyed dinner with their friend Nick at a nearby pizzeria called Brickyard. On Friday Kevin and his classmates received an email informing them that the Religious Education department was throwing out their library of books that was purchased with a $10,000 grant. They hurried over and started pulling books out of recycling bins. It was a great opportunity for them to quadruple their libraries. After pack meeting Stacie and Kevin met up with their friends to sort through the books and eat some BBQ. They look forward to spending the long weekend together.

The Haws Family of Wisconsin

Today is very special day. It is Mom's and my anniversary. What a blessing your mother has been in my life. It is so hard to believe that 31 years ago Mom and I knelt across the alter of temple and there were sealed for time and all eternity.

Logan and Emily are very much looking forward to the last week of school. Lanette will have an additional week of school. Logan seemed to have a good birthday. His special present was a ticket to go and visit Julie and Jeff. He will go on August 1st and we will pick him up in about 10 days. He is very excited.

The most important aspect of his birthday was receiving the Aaronic Priesthood. It was a real privilege to perform that priesthood ordinance for my last son. He will be an awesome deacon.

Emily had the opportunity to attend a couple of graduation parties and the graduation ceremony. She played her last regular season soccer game of the year. She still has the play off games in the next week or so.

Lanette attended prom this last week. She had a really good time. She also sang in church on Sunday. She sang with the Elmhorst family. It was really nice. She said afterwards to me "They include me, I really like that." They are really good people.

Mom and I along with Grant and Logan enjoyed a special dinner at Royal Tokyo this weekend. It was great company and great food.

Update from Jeff

Jeff has sent a number of pictures. They are included in the post. The pictures are courtesy of Renata, Derick and Felipe. Lucas has been quite photo shy. Jeff will be leaving for Brazil next week. Derick is definitely looking forward to his Dad coming home. Derick falls to sleep watching Daddy on skype.
