News from the Lane's of Virginia
Happy Birthday to Logan!
As some of you know we had some good news! We hoping to get a peek at it this week!
Although congratulations to Lanette for her splendid job on the piano. She really did wonderful!
Jeff joined Julie at choir as we sang in church this week.Julie had book club and achievement days this week. Jeff has been very helpful to Julie as she has not been the "top of her game". She really appreciates his help. One of the things he helped Julie with was spray painting some branches black for some awesome curtain rods! We are hoping to get those up soon.
Saturday we had a fun time talking to Jeff, brother, on the phone while we barbecued some beef kabobs.
News from the Colorado Haws Family
On Tuesday we were all sad to see Nana leave to go back to Wisconsin. It was really great to have her here for a few days. On Monday Haley had a track and field day at school where they did relays, jump roping and tug-a-war (which the girls won three times…yeah girls!) She also won the Sportsmanship Award. On Wednesday Haley enjoyed a walking to the Widefield Park with the other Kindergarteners. Kayla had celebrated her last day of school at the park with all of her classmates. On Thursday Haley had her Kindergarten graduation; it is amazing how fast the time flies. On Friday the girls were excited to wake up to Grandpa Haws at our house. Their favorite game to play with him was hide-and-seek; Grandpa had made it more entertaining for them by running through the screen door twice! Saturday we spent some time up on the mouth of the canyon called Garden of the Gods where they had beautiful rock formations that had been made by the wind and rain.
The Haws Family of Wisconsin
It has been kind of a crazy week in Wisconsin. Mom visited in Colorado last week and returned on Tuesday. I left on Thursday for Colorado and have spent the weekend here. Meanwhile Logan and Emily have been having sports events. Logan played in a tournament on Saturday in Tomah, Wisconsin. His team won the two Saturday games. Emily had soccer this week too. I was able to attend her game against DC Everest. They lost the game but Emily played exceptionally well (she did not agree but I am the one writing the blog).
Mom and Logan went and watched Pirates 4. They had very favorable reviews. Emily went with friends to dinner and a movie on Saturday night and I hear that they had fun.
Lanette played a piano piece in the spring concert on Thursday. We were not able to attend and I cannot find the video of the event on the website but when I find it I will send everyone the link.
It has been a lot of fun for me to visit Andy and Melanie and Haley and Kayla. The girls have certainly kept me busy. And yes, I have done a good job of trying to destroy the screen door to their home.
The big upcoming news is that this Friday is Logan's birthday. Can you believe that he is turning 12!
