This week was a very busy one for Kevin as UNM hosted its annual Medieval Lecture Series. It was a great opportunity for him to meet with scholars from other universities and to learn new things. On Thursday Stacie and Henry joined Kevin to listen to a lecture on a medieval sculptor. On Saturday Kevin, Stacie and Henry enjoyed a walk together in the Albuquerque heat. Soon afterwards Stacie became very ill. Kevin has been taking very good care of her and Henry and she should be better soon.

On Monday Haley and Kayla enjoyed having school off for “April Day” whatever that means. In the morning I took them to the dentist and then enjoyed a day at the park with Lisa, Tamara and their kids. On Tuesday Kayla had another day off of school so we enjoyed it by cleaning the house, eating lunch with Haley and playing at the park. On Friday Haley received her Master's degree for reading. She has 700 more pages until she will receive her doctorate. On Saturday we woke up early to help clean the church, which both Haley and Kayla loved to do. After cleaning the church I took them to the park and then to Chick-fil-a. On Sunday Haley reminded me that it is her birthday in 14 more days and kept asking me if she looks like a big 7 year old yet. It is amazing how quickly they grow up. We were able to talk to Andy a couple of times this week. The date for him coming home keeps changing, but I can’t complain as long as it will make him come home earlier.
Updates
Grant has been working a whole lot and planting some new flowers in our yard. One of my co-workers commented on how much better our yard looks over the last couple of years. I give credit to Grant for that.
Jeff will be leaving on Wednesday to go to Brazil to join his family. They are on the final leg to getting the paperwork done to move to the States. It has been an arduous trip to make it this far but hopefully we will be able to be together soon. It will be a wonderful reunion.
Julie and Jeff Lane are getting adjusted to their new home location. Jeff is picking up on his job and getting new clients. Alex is gaining weight very well and it seems like his gastroesophageal reflux is subsiding. I hope I am not jinxing things. Jeff and Julie were able to attend the St Paul Temple Friday night and Saturday morning.

Logan had a display in the Columbus School Academic Fair. It was large (about 4 feet) replica of the Washington Monument. It turned out very nice. On Sunday his choir performed a concert that we attended and this week he is busy with scouts, soccer and school. He is overjoyed that I finally put up the trampoline.
Emily came over today and spent time with Mom working on her graduation announcements. She has been getting some real exercise in by walking all over town to get to school, practice and work. She picked up a new job at Festival Foods.
Lanette had fun at a birthday picnic hosted by a new family in our branch. That was on Saturday and on Sunday was the linger longer so she enjoyed all the socialization. She is also happy about the trampoline being put up again. Lanette will be done with her school year in several weeks so we are trying to find some work opportunities for her.
Mom has been making some pretty amazing progress. Physical therapy is a real help with also a workout. Thankfully she has a wonderful physical therapist. Her physical therapist was treated to some of Mom's famous Mango sasa

Hey Family,
I am really sorry I delayed getting last weeks information into the blog. I have been working on some other projects not the least of those being my attempt to get Lanette "connected" on the Internet. So here is last week's update. Please keep on sending me information.
Love,
Dad
Comment- As I insert the note from Melanie I would like to share with you some of my deepest impressions last week. Perhaps only Melanie can fully appreciate the dangers Andy experiences on a daily basis. Recently Kabul came under attack in an area that Andy was located at. That day Mom and I had been praying more intently that usual for Andy's protection. I felt a deep impression that Father in Heaven had answered our prayer directly and preserved Andy's life. I hope that each of you, regardless of your daily activities, we take time each day to pray for Andy's safety. Dad

The beginning of this week was kind of slow, but by the weekend we were very busy. On Friday after we dropped Haley off at school I took Kayla to story hour at the library where she made a necklace nest with fuzzy eggs. After the library we went visiting teaching and then headed off to eat lunch with Haley. After Haley got out of school we watched Morgan, one of my friends little girl until 10:30 at night. Helen (her mom) forgot to warn me not to have anyone lay on the ground or Morgan will come and bounce on them, which was exactly what she kept doing to Haley and Kayla. Even though the girls were exhausted by the time Morgan left they loved playing with her. On Saturday the girls played with Sydney for awhile, and then we went to the provident living activity at church which turned out to be a success. Sadly it was my last activity that I helped plan because they had released me from my enrichment night calling and called me to be the Achievements Day Leader. I hope that I will be as good at this calling as the previous Achievements Day Leader was. Andy is doing well. This morning the place that he was at in Kabul was attacked but he assured me that he is safe. I know that the Lord is watching out for him and all of you prayers for his safety are being heard.

Dad and Mom,
I have been so very bad at writing that I suppose that I must call this our week, month, year.
This week was especially busy for Renata. We have arranged for me to return to Brazil to spend some time with the family and continue to press forward the immigration process. Renata always trying to make my arrival extra-special so by determining the date of my travels she develops a list of things she wants to accomplish before I arrive.
Besides her list of goals Derick decided to get a stomach flu to slow her down. Poor Derick felt horrible, got two shots and spent his Saturday morning on an IV at the hospital. Hospital visits usually end with a visit to a local toy store so he is feeling much better now with his new Ben 10 action figure.
Felipe has had a fun week. Besides school he has been interested in learning how to play the guitar. His aunt, who usually stays at our house while I am away has a guitar and some basic skills so she has been his mentor and has allowed him to play as frequently as he should like. We are excited for him and enjoy that he has developed interested in instruments, really any instrument but the drums is fine.
Lucas was the proud recipient of a trophy at a soccer tournament. As far as I know he play as a forward (is forward a position?), well it is one of the positions that kicks the ball with his feet and that is about as much as I understand about soccer. His performance at the tournament was impressive and he scored 5 goals, more than any of the other forwards at the tournament. So a big congrats to him on that.
I am well. Excited to be returning to Brazil and glad that Steven is patient with my travels. At work I have had the challenge of building tools for others to use. This is quite different from the data automation tasks that I have previously programmed. In the end I find databases more enjoyable than user interfaces, simply because databases don't talk back as much as users do. But it is a learning experience that will help me a lot as I move forward.
I hope that you week is going well. I am glad to hear that Mom has left the hospital and that Lanette enjoyed her 20th birthday.
Love,
Jeff

On Monday Stacie & Henry enjoyed lunch with their friend Sara and her daughter, Charlotte. On Tuesday and Thursday Stacie was excited to start going to dance exercise classes at the Y in the morning. Om Thursday Kevin, Stacie and Henry shared a wonderful day together. They went out to lunch and then went on a beautiful walk together around the park near their house. All weekend Kevin has been working in their yard preparing a garden. They look forward to harvesting zucchini, pumpkin, lots of different peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, carrots, and garden beans in a few months.

For any of you that do not know this already, Mom is one tough cookie!! Despite a lot of pain she is back doing so much. Last night we drove 6 hours so that we could do temple work for our ancestors. It was a beautiful experience and I have a testimony of the sealing powers. I had the distinct feeling that as we did the sealings that some of those individuals were absolutely delighted with that blessing. Thank you to each of you for your efforts.
We have enjoyed celebrating Lanette's birthday last week. She had a great time. She has a new computer and a program called "Jaws" to help her read the Internet. With Jeff's help we are making some progress on learning how to use it. I hope she will be able to contact you soon.
We are enjoying the fruits of Grant's labors as a lot of beautiful flowers are coming up...despite the snow.
Logan and Emily have been in the soccer mode. Emily had two games this week. We were only able to attend one but she played awesome. Logan has a tournament today. We are anticipating a fun day.
I am keeping this short because I need to be off to the tournament. Love Dad

Easter Day- April 8, 2012
The Jackson's of Albuquerque
April 8, 2012
Kevin was very busy this week with work, school and extra jobs provided to him by the woman he tutors & her husband. On Thursday he spent most of the day working in the optometrist's office run by Kattia's husband. However, Stacie was very thankful when he was able to come home after she started feeling unwell. Meanwhile, Stacie and Henry continue to enjoy their time together, even if it feels like it is slipping away too quickly. On Thursday Stacie took Henry to her workplace to visit her friends and coworkers. Although her coworkers look forward to her return in six weeks, she is much less thrilled with being apart from her precious little boy.
April 1, 2012
This last week Kevin, Stacie, and Henry enjoyed more time with Grant. They grilled ribs, went on walks, ate out at Tucanos, and just enjoyed being together. Henry especially loved playing with Grant, treating him to several big grins. They were all sorry to say goodbye to Grant on Wednesday morning and look forward to his visit in the summer.
On Friday and Saturday Stacie worked hard to prepare the refreshments for an upcoming ward activity, which proved to be a very difficult task while caring for Henry. However, as frustrating as it can be at times for Stacie and Kevin to try and keep up with Henry's needs, all of their frustrations have melted away as Henry has begun to smile and laugh more regularly. Every smile is precious. Attached in the flicker account are a few of the special moments captured.
On Saturday Kevin worked hard all day to help an acquaintance fix up some homes so that he could earn a little extra money. It was a very long day as he worked for about 14 hours, but they were grateful for the job opportunity. Today all three Jacksons are catching up on some much needed rest.
Grant's News
Grant has had a busy week of work, visiting Mom, and keeping things going around the house. He hasn't much time for gardening, which is okay because he is too nervous about it getting cold again to start any annual flowers in the yard. However, his tulips are now blooming. On Tuesday he did make a tour around town to see what the various stores had begun to carry, but he intends to hold off a few more weeks in case it dips below freezing at night. Thursday Grant had the day off and was able to go for a walk in the marsh, which hasn't happened in a while due to how muddy it has been with melting snow. The weekend at work was pretty slow due to the Easter holidays and nice weather.

The most exciting news this week is that Haley lost her first tooth on Tuesday! After attempting to pull out Haley’s tooth for two weeks I had my good friend Tamara try which didn’t work, then had my other good friend Lisa try and succeeded and is now hired as the official tooth puller for our family! Haley was so excited to finally have her tooth out. That night she put her tooth in her long awaited heart pillow and woke up to find a dollar and a note from the tooth fairy. On Friday Haley had a rhythms assembly where she participated in 6 dances. I think her favorite was the “chicken dance.” Saturday, I took the girls to an Easter Egg hunt and then surprised them by taking them to Disney on Ice. They loved it! Haley just ate food while she watched the show while Kayla kept telling me about all the different princesses that she could see during it. Sunday was great day, because my really good friend Lisa and her family joined us for church. Hopefully they will come with us again sometime. Andy is doing well. He has been informed that he will be moving again (for those of you that are counting this is move number 4). We have about two months before he will be home and we are all very excited for him to be done with this deployment.

This week the girls were excited to sleep in all week for Spring Break. I was surprised that I was able to figure out an activity for them to do each day. On Monday despite the wind, we went to the park on post and had lunch. Haley and Kayla made a couple of new friends there. Afterwards we went shopping at the commissary and then home to ride bikes. On Tuesday morning we went Visiting Teaching and then to the library to pick out more books. We spent most of the afternoon outside because the weather was beautiful. On Wednesday I took the girls shopping and then to Jack in the Box so Haley was able to use her coupons that she earned at school. In my opinion I don’t think we will be going there again because the food is not that great. Thursday was the highlight of our week because we were able to talk to Andy on Skype for about an hour. The girls were so excited to see him. Only 69 more days until he leaves Afghanistan! After talking to Andy I took Haley and Kayla to the Nature Center and the park. This was the first time that we went to the Nature Center and it was pretty cool. They have walking and bike trails and different types of animals that you can see. There was a Canadian goose that seemed attached to Haley. It kept following her anywhere we went. On Friday Haley played with her friends Sydney and Camden. Then I took them to ITZ (kind of like Chucky Cheese). It was okay but a little on the expensive side. Saturday I took the girls to the Easter Egg hunt on post where they had activities, entertainment and of course the Easter Egg hunt. Later we came home to watch General Conference. Sunday I took the girls to the church to watch the morning session of Conference and the afternoon one at home. I am very grateful that we have the technology where we are able to hear the inspirational and uplifting words of our Prophet and the other speakers twice a year.

Mom had surgery on her back on March 30th. It was a tough week or so but she is making some really good progress and we hope that she will be coming home soon. She is in the rehabilitation unit now and getting a real work out each day. Thank you for your prayers and to Jeff L. for assisting in giving priesthood blessings to mom. I felt the power of the priesthood in that ordinance.
Logan has had a sort of quiet week at home. He did read Hunger Games and then see the movie. It was a too violent for me so I did not see the whole show. He has been a huge help during mom's recovering. He does ride his bike down to the hospital to visit mom. He has two orders of chickens coming in soon so he has quite a load of work coming soon.
Lanette also had a pretty quiet week. She is looking forward to her 20th birthday this week. We hope to get her the jaws program so that she will be able to enjoy the Internet more. We think it may be a great way to help her communicate with friends and family.
Emily has dropped by to see mom on two occasions. She has played in one soccer game and more games are planned for this week.
I have really been blessed by the assistance of Grant and Logan. It has made so much possible. Work was relatively quiet last week which was also helpful. I have had the opportunity to ponder more the Atonement of Christ. As we have celebrated Easter it has provided opportunities that helped me realize what a great blessing the restored gospel is to each of us. Perhaps my deepest dream is that our family will be united in love one for another. We have so much to share with each other. I pray that we can each feel of the individual love of Savior for each of us.
Love,
Dad

On Monday Stacie and Kevin were sorry to say goodbye to so many family members. However it wasn't long before they could enjoy the arrival of Grant on Tuesday. Henry loves his Uncle Grant and has already smiled for him on multiple occasions. On Wednesday Grant and Stacie took Henry to his one month check up. Henry weighed in at 9 lbs 4 oz; he has gained 2 lbs since birth. On Thursday Kevin presented a paper at a department colloquium, which received great reviews.
On Friday they celebrated Kevin's 26th birthday.Kevin greatly appreciated the many books he received. On Saturday the celebrated another birthday; Henry's one month birthday! Henry was showered wih gifts at a ward baby shower. Afterwards they all enjoyed watching The Muppets together, a birthday present from Henry to his daddy.
Grant's News
Grant has been spending the week in Albuquerque with Stacie, Kevin, and Henry! He arrived on Tuesday and will be staying through until this coming Wednesday. Grant has really enjoyed getting to spend time with this cute kid and his amazing parents. He even got to go to the magical Giovanni's, which is the best place for pizza in New Mexico. Legitimately... It said so in USA Today. Otherwise, he has been taking lots of walks since New Mexico has had such nice blue skies and star gazing at night. It has been lovely.

Not too much has happened this week. Haley received her Bachelor’s degree for reading 1200 pages she has 500 more to go to receive her Masters and then 1500 to receive her Doctorate. Don’t we all wish it was that easy to attain those degrees! Kayla played with Emma a couple of times this week. We attempted to go to the park one of the days but it was just too windy. On Saturday the weather was beautiful! So Haley and Kayla convinced me to blow up the swimming pool so they could cool off. I was very surprised that they spent three hours in the pool and then another ½ hour riding bikes. Needless to say they fell asleep about 7:30 pm and slept very well Saturday night. I was able to talk to Andy this week and he seems to be doing well. We are counting down the days until he comes home.
March 18th
The best news this week as most of you already know, is that Andy is on the list for his promotion to SFC (E-7)! Yeah!!! On Monday after school I took Kayla and Emma to McDonalds then to the park to play before we picked up Haley. On Tuesday Kayla went to Emma’s while I ran some errands; it was really nice not to have extra hands touching everything when shopping. Wednesday I was supposed to visit teach a Sister but she ended up cancelling on us so I had a good visit with a friend instead. On Wednesday night the girls and I went to Lisa’s (one of my really good friends) graduation where she received her GED. Way to go Lisa! Thursday I was finishing up my visiting teaching for the week when Andy called to tell me the good news about the promotion list. As of right now we have 83 more days until he is suppose to leave Afghanistan! On Saturday I took the girls to the park on post and then to Applebees. After we got home Haley and Kayla was picking “flowers” for me when a butterfly kept landing on Haley and her bike. At one point it even crawled onto her finger. It was pretty awesome because she just finished talking about butterflies in her class at school. Sunday we went to church and when we got home we made a low-carb pizza that’s main ingredient is cauliflower. It turned out pretty good but I thought it tasted more like a quiche rather than pizza.

We have had quite the journeys the last couple of months. We have been to Pennsylvania, Virginia and New Mexico. We rode Amtrak from Chicago to Albuquerque this last leg of our journey. We have had the wonderful opportunity to witness the blessings of Henry and Alex. It is so fun to see our family grow. We have two new adorable grandchildren to add to the ranks of Derick, Felipe, Lucas, Haley and Kayla. What a wonderful privilege.
Back here in Wisconsin Logan and Emily have started their soccer seasons. Lanette is trying to get a job lined up for the summer and Mom and I are trying to keep up with our children. Mom will be having back surgery this Friday. We all hope that it will decrease her back pain.
We have welcomed Julie and Jeff as they relocate to Wausau. It is a big move for them and we hope that it works out for them.
We are all anxiously hoping that Jeff and Renata and family will be getting their visas approved for coming to the States. We hope that things keep moving forward.

Julie and Jeff and Alex (the newest nomads)
So it has been hard for Jeff and I to participate in the
news letter lately. Not only have we been struggling with the challenges of
parenthood but we are now moved to the land or cheese or WI land! Alex is
growing a lot, however he is struggling with keeping his food down. Henry
almost weighs more than Alex. Hopefully we can submit some very cute pictures
and video soon. Love to all!

I am so sorry this post has taken so long. We are leaving today for Albuquerque and I want to send this to all of you. Thanks to each of you that continue to contribute to the family blog.
The Jackson's of Albuquerque
This week has been a wonderful one for Stacie and Kevin as they enjoyed having Henry at home. Henry was discharged from the hospital last Saturday on the condition that he come home on oxygen. It has been an adventure for Stacie and Kevin to maneuver around their house with tanks, tubes, and a monitor that goes off at the slightest movement.
On Tuesday Henry had his first bath. Stacie was grateful Mom was there to help and to take lots of pictures. As you will see from the pictures, Henry isn't a fan of bath time. On Wednesday Kevin, Stacie, and Henry were all sad to see Mom go. Mom was such a blessing to them during this stressful time. Everyone was grateful that Nana got some snuggle time in before she had to leave though and they look forward to seeing her again this upcoming week.
On Thursday Stacie, Kevin & Henry trekked out on a very windy day to visit the pediatrician. Henry weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz (he has gained over a pound now!). They were excited that the pediatrician approved to have his oxygen turned down a level. He is now on the lowest amount that he can receive and he has been doing great! They plan to go in on Tuesday to test his levels and hopefully remove the oxygen entirely!
On Friday Stacie was excited to also visit with a home health care nurse who reported that Henry's lungs sound perfectly clear. We hope this means that he has completely recovered from his pneumonia, especially since he is handling lower levels of oxygen so well. Friday also marked the last day of classes before spring break. Both Stacie and Henry are enjoying extra time with Kevin for this next week. They especially look forward to spending time with family at the end of the week and blessing Henry next Sunday.

These past couple of week has been very busy for us all. Kayla went to the doctor for her 5 year checkup a couple of weeks ago and the doctor says that she is growing just fine and where she needs to be on the charts. With that said I noticed that she is just one inch shy of being as tall as Haley. The next day the girls were very sad to say goodbye to Vanesa and Grandma Nancy. They had a lot of fun with them during their visit. That Saturday was a day filled with activities. First, we went to a birthday party for someone at church where they had lemonade cupcakes which were actually really good. Then after the birthday we went and had frozen yogurt with Tamara, Sydney, and Ryan then headed off to the park which the kids loved because we stayed there for three hours! Sunday Haley gave the scripture and prayer in primary.
On Tuesday I was able to go to the temple. I was proud of myself because I drove up in the snowy weather; for me this was an accomplishment because those who know me know I do not like to drive in the snow. On the way back it was beautiful blue skies but very, very windy. It was so bad that I had to get off the freeway and go through town. Also this past Tuesday was Haley’s last day of intramurals (handball). She has had a lot of fun doing intramurals and would love to do it again next year. On Thursday Kayla had make-it-take-it night at school. The girls had many learning activities that they made. I believe their favorite one is ZAP! On Friday I took Kayla to the library story hour where she made a dinosaur. Haley was excited because they celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday at school (she came home with the chocolate cupcake evidence on her face). On Saturday the roads were very icy from the storm the night before so I thought our plans of going to Kids in the Kitchen were going to have to be changed, but luckily by 9:00 am the roads were just wet and almost dry so we were able to make it to the activity with my friend Tamara and her little ones Sydney and Ryan. They all had a great time learning about all the different foods, doing karate, and learning how to do CPR. Sunday was a beautiful 61 degrees (love that type of weather)! After church we made chocolate chip cookies to take to the people who I visit teach.

We were able to talk to Andy a couple of times this week. He was getting ready to go out for a few weeks to check up on all of the FOBS. Thank you for all of your continual prayers of protection for him!We have had beautiful weather this past week. On Tuesday I was able to go to the temple again while Kayla went to play at Emma’s after school. Wednesday Emma came over to play with Kayla and they were being very creative on making their obstacle course in the house with using the chairs, pillows, and dolls. On Thursday we enjoyed lunch at Olive Garden with Gena, Emma and a few friends from Virginia that were visiting. Friday Haley didn’t have school so I took them to Dr. Seuss’s birthday party at the library. They seemed to have a great time and was excited to see friends from school there. After, the girls played at the park and then enjoyed an ice cream from Coldstone Creamery. Later that day the girls helped me take dinner to a sister in our ward who is having a hard time with her pregnancy. It is always good to have Haley and Kayla help with service projects in any little way that they can. On Saturday after 1 ½ hours of putting Haley’s very early birthday bike together (next time I think I just might pay the extra to already have it assembled) we headed off to the park on post. The girls had a lot of fun even though it was a little cold and windy. When we got back Haley was finally able to ride her new bike and even though she has been riding a bike for quite awhile she still sometimes forgets that she has breaks on the bike and still tries to use her feet to stop, which this time made her crash into the rocks. Luckily she was wearing a helmet and wasn’t hurt. Andy is doing well and continually staying busy checking the fobs around Afghanistan.
ADDED NEWS: Andy was selected for advancement to E7. That is an amazing acheivement. Congratulations.

There are lots of fun pictures in the updated flickr slideshow. I should have put Henry front and center in the slide show but that is beyond my technological ability. He is at the end instead. Please enjoy all the pictures from this week.

On Tuesday I helped with both Haley’s and Kayla’s Valentine party at school. Then on Wednesday we were all excited to pick Grandma Nancy up from the airport. On Thursday while I went to help in Haley’s classroom my mom and Vanesa adventured (actually got lost) downtown Colorado Springs…they probably should have had pepper spray with them where they went. While they were off “exploring” I was preparing activities for Kayla’s birthday. Friday Kayla decided to wake up in the middle of the night to let us know that it was her birthday and she is 5 years old. I told her that was wonderful and she needed to go back to bed. Friday we celebrated Kayla’s birthday by having a party with some of her friends. They made butterfly wands, played pin crown on the princess and ate cake. Everyone seemed to have a good time. On Saturday Vanesa and I were planning to go to the temple but our plans changed because Kayla was up all night and then ended up with a fever and throwing up on Saturday. On Sunday my mom and Vanesa took Haley to church while I took Kayla to the urgent care because her fever did not go away and she also developed a rash all over her body; we found out she had strep throat. Hopefully no one else in the household gets it. Andy seems to be doing well. Of course he is continually staying busy checking up on different fobs throughout Afghanistan.
The Wisconsin Haws Family
The week has been focused on the new arrival of Henry. He has been in our prayers as he started this earthly journal with a bit of a challenge. He is doing well and the news from New Mexico is all favorable. He has some pretty awesome parents and one terrific Nana.
Logan and I had some quality time this last week. On Saturday he participated in a piano concert and earned a "superior" mark. Later that morning we went to the community cultural fair. Marshfield is an amazingly diverse population despite being a small Midwestern town. The cultural fair had all sorts of booths representing many countries. That evening we went to a fireside on missionary service. Later we pick up Emily and enjoyed the movie, Journey 2 to the Lost Island. It was fun.
Emily has been busy with soccer, school, work and boyfriend. She is waiting still to hear back from James Madison but she has received acceptance letters from UW Green Bay, University of Minnesota and Utah State University. She is trying to figure out finances and long term aspirations.
Lanette enjoyed a long weekend with the Weier family. She really knows how to keep up an intinary of visiting friends. Bottom line is that she hates staying home and being "bored". She will have a job interview tomorrow for an opportunity to work at the hospital. She is working part time at Goodwill.
Mom has been doing the most important thing in the world by there for her daughter and son-in-law. Mom is very proud of her children and it has been a good experience despite Henry's rough start.
I have enjoyed time with my family and with other activities. Work has been challenging and in my spare time I have been working on seeking out Pierre Mann, your illusive ancestor.
It is such a joy to see how my children are growing up to be great moms and dads. Thank you for your efforts. And thank you Grant for all you do to make our home a stable, well fed and a pretty clean place.
Love,
Dad

Grant's News
Dad
Grant's News
Grant's week went pretty uneventfully. Valentine's Day was
busy at the restaurant of course and Grant covered a position called "expo"
which is the go-between for the kitchen and servers. Basically you put the
orders together, verify they are correct, and then send them out to the table.
So Tuesday was a little crazy. Wednesday he was off, and was supposed to be off
Thursday, but somehow he got confused what day it was and went into work
Thursday, thinking it was Friday and was there a whole hour before anyone said
anything. He ended up working the rest of the afternoon anyways. The weekend was
fairly busy, which is both a blessing and headache, but after a month of super
slow business and skimpy tips, Grant was happy to come home with a bit more
money in his pocket. Today Grant was especially excited to see that the
daffodils in the flower beds are coming up. His 2012 gardening may now
commence.
The Jackson's of Albuquerque
This week was a long one for Stacie now
that she is home alone, waiting for Henry to make his appearance. She did enjoy
spending her free time completing some projects around the house, talking to
Mom, taking naps and going on long walks. On Thursday Stacie & Kevin
attended a doctor's appointment where they set a date to be induced. Unless
Henry decides to come any sooner, they plan to be induced this upcoming
Thursday. Later that day they took a stroll through the foothills together and
enjoyed the beautiful Albuquerque weather.
On Friday Stacie had an ultrasound to insure that their baby is doing
alright. The ultrasound
technician announced that he was a very active baby for this stage and
that he looked ready to arrive at any minute. We pray that everything goes well
with his delivery and look forward to sharing some happy news this
week.
The Wisconsin Haws Family
The week has flown. We have had some snow but for the most part we have enjoyed great weather. I am beginning to plan the garden area and the other day on a walk with Molly I heard birds chirping. I am anxiously awaiting the first robin.
Mom will be leaving us on Wednesday to go to Albuquerque. She is anxious to go and we will miss her but we know she is doing something only a mom can do.
Logan participated in solo and ensemble this last Friday. His piano piece turned out very nice. Mom and I greatly enjoyed it. He also sang a solo but despite arriving on time to hear Logan we missed his performance. They moved up the time for the performance. He did receive a 1 mark for both pieces. That was great, Logan.
Lanette was able to spend time at the Elmhorst this weekend. That was her favorite activity. She has enjoyed talking with Grant about disasters, global warming and all sorts of other things.
Emily was accepted to the University of Minnesota. I am hoping that she will accept the opportunity to study there. We will keep you all updated.
I have continued to work on family history. I have been working with a very kind gentleman in Charlesbourg, Quebec that is really helping me. My goal is to find out more information regarding Pierre Man who was born in 1796. I am still looking for his parents and siblings. I will keep you posted.
Love,
Dad
