From the Editor's Desk

What a great week this has been. We have enjoyed wonderful fall weather. I have been blessed to identified a number of your ancestors needing temple work. I will send them out to interested parties in the near future and request your assistance. Thank you so much for doing this critical work of salvation.

Logan's chickens are getting enormous. It is amazing how fast they are growing. It may be the generous amounts of feeding he is giving them but it is really fun to see them grow. On Saturday night we invited Logan's friends and parents to our home for a bonfire, S'mores and ice cream. It was fun. He loves his new school.

Emily skipped the bonfire so that she could go out to eat at Royal Tokyo with some of her friends. I cannot image why she did not want to skip the restaurant and stay home for the ice cream. Oh well. She has been busy with work and school. She has returned to playing in the band while Logan has changed from band to choir.

Lanette has been making contact with all sorts of her friends via her cellphone. She has really enjoyed the new freedom. She is interested in a IPhone for the blind. We will have to get more details.

Grant has spent another week in Stevens Point training. No Bambi causalities this week...and the damages to his car from the last suicidal deer will be repaired this coming week so Grant is very excited about that. Grant is extremely anxious to get back to his Applebuddies in Marshfield. He often stops in to see his friends at his work here in Marshfield after getting back from Stevens Point and he misses seeing them on a daily basis. Otherwise, nothing much is going on for Grant.

Mom has been working on organizing her craft room as I tear about the garage. Someday we will have it all in order. Mom has made it perfectly clear that my "cost-saving" idea with getting rid of the LAN line was penny wise and dollar foolish. We will have our LAN line back in business this Thursday. Same number. Mom is a great person. I hope each of you know that. This week she was concerned about Grant traveling so much so she arranged a motel room for him on Saturday night in Stevens Point so that he could get a good night sleep instead of spending two extra hours driving. That kind of constant concern is Mom's hallmark.

This week I was called to be the Scoutmaster. I am excited. It brings back memories of working with Andy, Jeff and Grant. I hope that I can do a good job for Logan.

News from Newport News

Time seems like it has flown by. This week in speech therapy Kayla was able to say the “d” and “f” sounds. Mrs. Smalls and I were so excited to hear Kayla pronounce those sounds. She still needs lots of practice but at least now she knows she is able to say them. Haley seems to like school and is trying hard to do her best sounding out words when she is writing her sentences. Last Friday Julie and Jeff came to watch the girls for us while Andy and I spent the day together for our anniversary. Even though it was really nice to go into stores without extra hands pulling toys off shelves or little girls hiding in clothes racks, it was wonderful to come back home to home-made hand printed door hangers from precious little angels.

Mom and Dad,

Our week was quite enjoyable.

As mentioned in a previous email we had a real challenge to collect urine and feces samples from Lucas and Derick. They just did not want to let the doctor have a look at that stuff. After some exertion and threats we were able to deliver the product for review and both appear to be in fairly good health. A blood test was also necessary, but big-bad daddy made sure that went smoothly.

This week I had a significant amount of busy work. By busy work I mean work that requires little analysis, but a lot of rote repetition – copy-past-next type of actions. During these exercises I usually listen to an online lecture. I am attaching a link to one that I found especially enjoyable: http://academicearth.org/lectures/why_not . AcademicEarth.og has lots of lectures from many great universities like Harvard, Yale and MIT. Most, including the attached last about an hour.

The boys continue well. Each appears to be growing more-and-more quickly every day.

Renata is also well.

Love,

Jeff

OUR BIG EXCITEMENT THIS WEEK IS THAT JEFF AND I WENT TO NEW PORT NEWS! Besides visiting the place where we got engaged, we saw Andy, Melanie, Haley and Kayla. We had a nice evening at their house on Friday. After the girls wore me out playing horsey and being silly, Andy showed Jeff and me his gun. It is cool! Saturday, we kicked Andy and Melanie out and then took the girls to the animal museum, sonic, pond (to feed the fish), playground. when we brought them home we had them dress up in their Halloween dresses and played trick-or-treat with us and making "spider pizza". For all that, Kayla rewarded us with an unexpected bout of diarrhea(all of the bathroom!) and then flooding the toilet with the same materials. Actually, it really was more about making sure she was okay. Andy and Melanie modeled their clothes that they brought home for the family picture. Sunday we went to church with Melanie and Kayla since Andy wash staying home with Haley (she had a peculiar rash).

While were at both the zoo and the pond Julie got some great pictures. Some are National Geographic quality!

Monday we saw the kitties again. Princess is getting FAT! :) But she loves her Mommy! Ek Balam is very curious! They are getting Bigger every time.We love to play with them and we are excited to welcome them to our home! It is less than three weeks now!

The Jackson's of Albuquerque

On Monday Stacie had a great opportunity to invite a co-worker to church. Although the co-worker didn't feel up to coming today, hopefully it continues to be a good discussion. She also enjoyed hearing a story from one of her staff members about how her staff member went to an LDS Young Single Adult dance without knowing what it was until the DJ said something. She suddenly realized why no one was joining in her jokes about how booze would improve the party.

For mutual on Tuesday Stacie joined the youth in playing "human foosball" at the church. It was fun, even if she might of lost her voice from yelling the rules out repeatedly. On Thursday Stacie & Kevin attended their Cub Committee meeting. They look forwarded to holding pack meeting this upcoming week. On Friday Kevin and Stacie attended a dinner held by one of Kevin's fellow graduate students. They enjoyed getting to know other people in his program and the free food, of course!

On Saturday Stacie spent the morning hanging out with a friend from work. They went to check out a sale at a local church that was kind of like a nice, well organized yard sale. Stacie found a few treasures she looks forward to using and really enjoyed gaining a new friend. Later in the day Stacie baked cinnamon bread and stayed up late after procrastinating her lesson for Young Women's.
